This board will be a Grand Theft Auto IV themed RPG board where you create a character who lives somewhere in the Liberty City depicted in the Grand Theft Auto IV game. I'd like for it to remain as "realistic" as possible. That means you don't go around carrying an entire arsenal with you. You get a couple guns and maybe 1 or 2 melee type weapons along with plenty of ammo and other gear at a time. You can have a collection of guns and weapons but you can only have a few on you at any given time.
If you want to carry around dual-pistols with an assault rifle/SMG/shotgun, that's fine, but do remember that the pedestrians can see them on you and the police don't like that. So, you'll need to find a way to conceal them from view.
There's the general overview of the story. Here's the rules.
1. One character per profile. If you need to have multiple characters to roleplay as, make a separate profile for each of them, preferably with each profile named after the character, although it's not required. That's not to say your character has to be all alone. You can have as many NPCs(non player characters) in your story as you want, but please tell us they are NPCs when they are first introduced in your story. Hell, if you want to have two separate characters who fight together in the same group, and you want to tell the same story through each character's perspective, go for it.
2. Be polite. We all know what this means so it should be pretty self-explanatory. One thing to mention is don't butt in to other people's stories without their permission. It's a big city but it isn't so big that our characters absolutely can't bump into each other. So, if you and another member decide to join up for a while or even go at each others' throats, as long as you both agree to it and your roleplays are coordinated and they don't tell two totally different stories, it's all good.
3. Curse as much as you want. I don't really care because I do it myself. However, don't go throwing the N word around too much unless your character is either black or a total racist and in that case it needs to be written into the story and the racist angle needs to make your character look bad. Consider using a therapy angle in your story, character development is always good.
4. Being that cursing is allowed, don't get whiny if you're offended by it. If you get offended by cursing, stay the hell out of this board.
5. When writing your roleplays(posts), try to include a date and time of when it happens. Preferably one at the beginning, and another at the end. You can use this to add details to your posts. For example, if your post starts in the early evening hours and ends after sunset, you can have your character describe the sun going down and it getting darker. Also, try to number your posts or do something to keep the sequence obvious. Your stories can take place during the time frame of the actual game itself so you can bump into characters from the game like Niko or Roman or even Johnny and the other bikers from The Lost and Damned DLC, however, you can't say you killed them.
6. Have fun and try to not piss other people off.
7. As far as vehicles and weapons go, since this is in the GTA universe, try to use the names of vehicles in GTA. Don't say you drive a Corvette, in GTA it's a Coquette. It's not an Aston Martin, it's a Super GT. I don't even care if you use older cars from the older games, just make sure you use the name from the game. Now weapons are another story. Since they never really name the weapons in GTA, go ahead and use the real names of guns and you can use any gun or weapon you want. You can use any pistol/revolver, any shotgun, any SMG, any assault rifle or sniper rifle in the world, past or present, hell, even grenades, pipebombs, molotovs and satchel charge explosives, even grenade launchers, even an assault rifle with a grenade launcher attachment.
I have expanded to include Los Santos from GTA V, and I will expand further if any other cities are added for GTA Online or any other full GTA games.
