Max is now starting to stir in bed. Lola is still lieing on top of him. He opens his eyes and notices her and then tries to not move so much so he doesn't wake her up. He rolls her over to the left, off of him, and on to her back. Now that she's off him, he slides out of bed on the right side and finds his clothes. He puts them on and leaves the room, closing the door quietly on the way out. Joey is already awake and dressed, sitting on the couch, eating a bowl of cereal. Max nods at him on the way over to the kitchen.
"Sup."
"Yo."
Max makes himself a bowl of cereal and then sits down on the couch and eats it while talking with Joey.
"So, how's it goin', bro?"
"Good, I guess. I thought yesterday was gonna drag on for-fuckin'-ever, though. I thought it would never end."
"I know what ya mean, man. So, where's Lola?"
"Still asleep."
"Where'd she sleep?"
"In my bed. With me."
"Oh."
There's an awkward pause between them, but Max keeps eating his cereal. Finally, Joey breaks the silence.
"So, she any good?"
"Yeah, pretty good. I dunno if she'll give you a freebie, though."
"Oh, she didn't charge you?"
"Nah, I think it was a pity thing. I had another flashback while I was sleeping and woke up in a cold sweat and she was already on top of me. She said she could help me sleep with sex, and what do ya know, it worked."
"Hmm. Well, at least we know she does have a heart."
"Just 'cause she's a hooker, doesn't mean she's heartless."
"I never said that. I'm just saying at least we know."
"Anyways. We have a trip today."
"Oh yeah? Where we goin'?"
"The Bank of Liberty. We gotta open an account."
"Yeah, a bank account would be a good idea."
"Yeah. I figured we could use a debit card. There's some stuff I'm gonna buy for us off the internet and we'll need one for that."
"What are ya buyin' online?"
"Well, I figured with things goin' the way they are. If we're gonna hafta keep killin' people, we'll need something to help conceal our faces."
"Like a mask?"
"Exactly. Do you remember those neoprene face masks we wore a couple times on those missions in Siberia?"
"Yeah, dude. Those things were pretty badass lookin'."
"I know, right. But anyways. I figured I'd get us a couple of those and we could wear them while we kill people, if we have to, and that way no one will see our faces and we won't have any chance of the cops fingering us for the job."
"Right, right. But won't they think of us, since we'll be like the only two people in town who have those masks?"
"As long as we hide 'em when we're not wearin' 'em, and make sure no one sees us puttin' 'em on, we should be fine."
"True. So, do we know how ta get to the bank?"
"Yup. I got directions from Lola last night."
"That's not the only thing you got from Lola last night."
They share a brief chuckle together and then get serious.
"Alright. Let me clean these bowls and spoons and we can get goin'."
"We're just gonna leave Lola here, alone?"
"What's she gonna do? Steal the non-existent TV that we still hafta go buy?"
"She could steal our food."
"You really think she'd do that when she probably has a fridge full of food at her place? Plus, we know where she lives, and, she saw what we did to those fuckin' mobsters. You really think she'd try to fuck with us after seein' that?"
"Yeah, good point."
Max cleans the two bowls and spoons and then puts them away. Then the two leave the apartment and go out to the Vigero. Max starts it and they take off and head for the bank after crossing the East Borough Bridge.
