They both chose the later and wound up in the Navy training to become SEALs. After training, they were sent on several missions together where they each earned a bunch of medals and awards. But, after a horrible tragedy happened during one of their missions in another country, both of them realized they were being lied to by their commanding officers. They decided to leave the Navy and start new lives in a new city. Liberty City looked nice, so they decided to try their luck there.
